Butchart Gardens are a short 30-minute drive from downtown Victoria and well worth the trip. The gardens cover over 22 hectares (55 acres) of unbelievably beautiful landscaping. The variety of flowers, flowering shrubs, and trees is truly amazing.
Victoria’s location on the Pacific Ocean makes it great for whale watching and other water activities. The leisurely pace of life and friendly locals make Victoria a perfect place to relax and recharge during your vacation. If you want to combine city life with nature and history, Victoria is a must-visit spot in Canada.
Vancouver, British Columbia
Vancouver is a modern city on the west coast of Canada. It is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean to the west and mountains to the north. City adventures and nature escapes are both available.
Stanley Park is a famous park covering 405 hectares (1,001 acres) of the city’s northwest corner. It has a seawall with a two-lane concrete path, one for walking and the other for biking or rollerblading. To avoid accidents, you must stay on your own path. Because Toronto welcomes people from many different cultures, it has interesting restaurants serving various foods from around the world. Niagara Falls, Ontario
Niagara Falls is three adjoining waterfalls. Horeshoe Falls, the largest of the three, is on the border between Canada and the United States. The two lesser falls are entirely in the state of New York. Niagara Falls is one of the most famous natural attractions in Canada. I remember in the mid-80s taking a business trip to Mississauga, a suburb of Toronto. After completing our business, one of the local managers drove us to Niagara Falls, about a one-hour-and-20-minute drive. We rode on the Maid of the Mist behind the falls. Even though we were each supplied with a yellow waterproof poncho, everyone still got drenched. Seeing the running mascara on the faces of the women who wore it made me smile. Sadly, the Maid of the Mist stopped operating from the Canadian side of the Falls in 2014.
Parks, restaurants, and fun attractions are also available. Whether travelling alone or with your family, the breathtaking sight of the Falls is a wonderful reminder of nature’s power and beauty.
